Childhood is a complex time of growth and discovery. Through this work I sought to reach back in time to re-examine my own childhood, to try and create for my own children the magical world I often imagined as a child, but had only fleeting access to. I see myself projecting fragments of my own memories, snatches from the past that I look for in the lives unfolding before me. It is a chance to grapple with my own complex history and face unrealized longings and memories.  We see a contrast in the images that draws the viewer in, between playful delight and serious introspection, and between the desire for companionship and an emerging sense of solitude.
