This work explores the nature of the past and personal history. It returns once more to the question of family and place and what that means in a world where we are forever in flux. In the making of this work I took a trip back home to England in an effort to explore my relationships with my family, imagining they would be my subjects as I delved into the unspoken stories that defined how we relate to each other. And although there are portraits in this series, something unexpected happened and I found my camera turning to the landscape- looking there - a safer port perhaps - for the metaphors of family and home.
